Participant Papers
The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy encourages academic research and analysis of issues related to the goals of our individual forums, conferences and the institute as a whole. This may include, for example, studies in the fields of culture, international politics, economics, law, history, philosophy, peace and conflict studies, communication studies, anthropology, musicology, art history, and linguistics. The global challenges that have emerged over the past two decades demand new approaches by international organizations, governments, sub-nation actors, and individuals. These new approaches must take into account the changing context of international relations: the impact of the technological revolution, the increasing interdependence of nation states, and the emergence of global issues such as climate change and international terrorism. In order to identify and implement successful strategies, a creative approach is needed that promotes interdisciplinary analysis and provides space for input from different levels of society in different regions of the world.
The ICD would therefore like to welcome the participants of our weeklong seminars and conferences to submit a paper they would like to be considered for delivery at their program. This may be an article written especially for purpose, or an article they have already submitted as an academic essay, or equivalent. We are also able to accept collaborative pieces of work from groups of students.
A jury of experts, including members of the ICD Advisory board and ICD staff, will then review the papers and contact you. Participant papers should be submitted to the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy no later than two weeks before the Weeklong Seminar/Conference/Event.
