ICD Academy Sessions are weeklong programs that explore the role of cultural diplomacy in contemporary international relations. Each program features lectures, seminars and workshops lead by experts from the fields of international politics, diplomacy, academia, civil society, and the private sector. During their time in Berlin participants will also have the opportunity to take part in cultural and social activities and to visit institutions such as the German Foreign Office, the German Parliament, the Berlin City Hall, cultural institutions and Berlin-based embassies. "Cultural Diplomacy and the Afro German Relations"

The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy has initiated the Rise of Africa 2016 conference in order to strengthen the economic and cultural bridges between Germany and Africa with the ultimate goal of fostering further cultural, business, investment and tourism exchange between Africa and Germany. The latest terror attacks in Europe, the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and a growing political and economic instability of global magnitude create an imminent threat for global peace. From analyzing the entities behind these growing terror attacks, the way they are being executed as well as the reasons behind the escalation of the events, the urgent need for intense interreligious and intercultural dialogue is underlined in order to ease these prominent threats. International Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy in the Arab World focused on the opportunities for cultural diplomacy in the Arab World in the framework of the current transitions and challenges. In particular, the symposiumwill highlighted the best practices of certain counties in the Arab World of practicing cultural diplomacy to educate and to strengthen relationships between groups within their countries and to strengthen relationships between their countries and the global community. The 2015 Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy aims to present all practices that the field of cultural diplomacy has to offer to the international community for their application to try to remedy and solve growing global challenges. The conference will bring together leading politicians, religious leaders, senior academics and celebrated artists together with representatives from areas of conflict in order to establish new institutions and initiatives that will help with these challenges using the practice of cultural diplomacy together with other practices and means.
