Dr. Miomir Zuzul

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Croatia

Dr.MiomirZuzul, Croatiandiplomatandpolitician, was born in Split, Croatia, in1955. His political career took off in 1992 when he becameDeputy foreign Minister of Coatia. Since then he has worked hard to enhance Croatia’s image internationally.

From 1993-1996 he worked as ambassador to the United Nations before becoming ambassador to the United States in 1996. It was particularly during that period that he built up a good rapport with many US politicians and businessmen.

He was then Foreign Minister of Croatia from 2004 until 2006, and used that position to try and advance EU and Nato membership prospects for Croatia.

In 2007 he was made the OSCE chairman’s personal representative to Georgia  Zuzul holds two doctorates, one in psychology from the University of Zagreb and one in Conflict Management from the University of Zagreb.
