The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy award President Shimon Peres “Recognition of Distinguished Contribution to World Peace”.

On Monday, July 2nd, the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria (ACB) and the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD) sent a peace delegation to Israel to move into action its goal of fostering peace and stability in the Mediterranean region.

Among other meetings and events, the ACB/ICD peace delegation had the honor of meeting President Shimon Peres, (former prime minister of Israel and 1994 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate). Peres, together with Yaser Arafat (Former President of the Palestinian National Authority) and Yitzhak Rabin (former Prime Minister of Israel), were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize “for their efforts to create peace in the Middle East.” They were recognized for their efforts in negotiating the Oslo Accords peace agreement. Prior to his presidency, Mr. Peres held two-term position as Israel’s prime minister and served many diplomatic and military positions.

In recognition of his efforts to create peaceful dialogue in the Middle East, the ICD presented President Peres an award for his unwavering “dedication toward the achievement of an enduring peace, even in the midst of the most demanding and troubled times.”

The award contains the following text:
