1998-2005 | The National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police - Division for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic Crimes in Iceland. Assistant Prosecutor responsible for supervising investigation and prosecution of economic crimes, environmental crimes and money laundry in district court. |
2005-2006 | The office of the Director of Public Prosecution. Prosecutor responsible for prosecution of criminal cases in district court and the Supreme Court of Iceland. |
2007-2010 | Prosecutor at the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police - Division for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic Crimes in Iceland. Head of division in charge of investigation and prosecution of economic crimes in Iceland. |
2010-2012 | Assistant prosecutor of the Icelandic Parliament (Althingi) in the Court of Impeachment in the case of Althingi against the former Prime Minister of Iceland Geir H. Haarde. |
From 2011 - | Deputy Director of Public Prosecution at the office of the Director of Public Prosecuton. |
My field of expertise is amoung others in white-collar crimes, corruption, moneylaundry, environmental crimes. I have prosecuted most of the big cases of economic crimes in Iceland in the last twenty years, including cases connected to the collapse of the Icelandic banking system in October 2008, in the Supreme court of Iceland.
International cooperation:
I have participated in Nordic cooperation in various fields within the police and the prosecution service from 1998.
I have been on the delegation of Iceland at GRECO, Groups of States against Corruption at the Council of Europe from 2005.
I have been a member of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors (CCPE) at the Council of Europe from 2011.
I have represented Iceland in the OECD Working Group on Bribery (WGB) from time to time from 2011.
I have been a judicial contact point for Iceland to Eurojust and the European Judicial Network (EJN) from 2007.
