Biography

Milan Zver MEP is a member of the European Parliament; he belongs to the European People's Party - Christian Democrats group. He is also a member of the Committee on Culture and Education as well as part of the Delegation for Relations with the United States.

In Slovenia he is a member of the Slovenian Democratic Party. In the early 90s he worked as an advisor, first to the Prime Minister and then to the Minister of Defense as well as for a variety of organizations including the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. In 2004 he was elected to the Slovenian National Assembly, which he left soon after to serve as a Minister for Education and Sports in Slovenia. In 2009 he was elected to the European Parliament.

Milan Zver was born on 25th May 1962 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.  In 1987 Mr Zver graduated from the University of Ljubljana in 1998 he went on to obtain his Ph.D. from the same university. He studied sociology and political science, which he also taught at the University of Maribor. My Zver has written numerous articles and monographs in the field of history and political science. In addition he is a member of the Reconciliation of European Histories Group.
