The Hon. Dr. Zvonimir Paul Separovic (In Memoriam)

Biography

The Hon. Dr. Zvonimir Paul Separovic is a well known Croatian legal scholar, professor and politician.  After studying law in Croatia and receiving his doctorate in Slovenia, Dr. Zvonimir Paul Separovic became a professor of Criminal Law at the University of Zagreb.  In 1991, he joined the world of politics with his appointment to the position of Foreign Minister in Franjo Gregurić’s National Government.  He then became  the United Nations Permanent Representative of Croatia one year later.  He continued his political career when, in 1999, he became the Minister of Justice under Prime Minister Zlatko Mateša. 

The Hon. Dr. Zvonimir Paul Separovic has taught at various post-graduate study programs including the University of Osijek, and was presented with the honorary title of professor emeritus by the University of Zagreb in 1998.  He is the co-founder of the World Society of Victimology, for which he has also served as the President, and has been a pioneer in publications focusing on criminal law and victimology.
