Conference Overview

The 2016 US Presidential Election and the UN Secretary General Election represent the start of a new era in the most influential governance institutions of the modern world. The policies and strategies that will be decided and launched in the next months will influence every aspect of future international relations, the global economy, human rights and environmental issues of every country around the world. The expectations for positive developments are high and indeed the opportunities for leading the world to a more balanced situation between States, as well as within states and with their citizens await to be pursued.

In light of these transitions, the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy has launched the “Global Summit on Cultural Diplomacy in the United Nations” which will be a major event in the field of cultural diplomacy hosted and organized by ICD in partnership with other leading institutions. The event will bring together leading politicians, senior diplomats, celebrated artists, senior academics, and religious leaders and will focus on The Influence of New US and UN Leadership on International Relations, Economic Development, Innovation, New Markets, & Global Human Rights.

The conference will include keynote addresses, lectures, and interactive panel discussions and debates in order to enable dialogue about the new opportunities for engagement and to create a platform for new initiatives to be created and proposed.

Conference Locations

Cultural Diplomacy in the UN will take place in New York City. The conference will be hosted in the UN building and at a number of important political, historic, and cultural locations across the city.

Conference Speakers

Speakers and delegates during the conference will include leading politicians, chief diplomats, leading governmental officials, senior academics, renowned authors, journalists, and celebrated artists. Participation in the conference is open to governmental & diplomatic officials, academics, artists, journalists, civil society practitioners, private sector representatives, young professionals as well as other interested individuals from across the world.

Certificate of Attendance - All conference participants will be awarded an official certificate of attendance upon completion of the program, which will provide details of the speakers who took part and the topics discussed. Each certificate will be signed by members of the Conference Committee.

Participant Papers »

The Academy for Cultural Diplomacy encourages academic research and analysis of issues related to the goals of the conference, and would therefore like to welcome participants to submit a paper they would like to be considered for delivery at the conference. Following the conference, the papers will be included in the proposal document that will be issued and sent to governments and leaders of the international community.
