Biography
Oana-Silvia Toiu is a Romanian politician, who currently serves as a Member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies. Her policy work is focused on the future of work, child and family policy, social innovation and entrepreneurship, girls rights and women political representation. Most notably, she has introduced various legislative initiatives to support gender equality and especially women in entrepreneurial roles. Oana Silvia Toiu has previously served as the state secretary in the Romanian Ministry of Labour and Family, where her role focused on family policy, social inclusion and social business law. Formerly a entrepreneur, she founded Social Innovation Solution, an incubator that invests in educational and social innovation solutions by engaging and connecting entrepreneurs and policymakers throughout Europe. Her civic and entrepreneurial work were recognized by the World Economic Forum, Ashoka and the European Commission and is a fellow of AIESEC, The Aspen Institute and The German Marshall Fund.
