Biography
Oana Murariu (born September 11, 1988) is a member of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of the Romanian Parliament.
Oana is an MP in her first term, being one of the representatives of the new wave of young Romanian politicians. Oana is a member of the National Union for Saving Romania (USR), being the president of the party's Cluj county organization.
USR is a centre-right party, a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE). The party was founded in 2016 with the objective of promoting the rule of law and reforming the political class and of the Romanian society.
A lawyer by profession and holder of her own law practice, Oana is the Vice-President of the Commission for Human Rights, Religions and National Minority Issues and a member of the Legal, Discipline and Immunities Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.
From these positions and based on her experience as a lawyer in the Romanian courts, Oana focuses on proposing public policies that strengthen the independence of the judiciary in parallel with working to consolidate the respect for fundamental human rights and freedoms.
