Overview

The US-EU Forum on Cultural Diplomacy 2026 will bring together politicians, diplomats, business leaders, academics and representatives of civil society to examine the evolving relationship between the United States and the European Union. The Forum will consider the role of cultural diplomacy in supporting dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation across political, economic, academic and cultural spheres, building on the longstanding transatlantic relationship and shared connections between the United States and Europe.

With a focus on modern economies, international cooperation and cultural exchange, the Forum will explore emerging areas of transatlantic cooperation, including innovation, entrepreneurship, education, the creative industries, technology and people-to-people relations. Particular attention will be given to the changing global economic environment and the opportunities for the United States and the European Union to strengthen cooperation in areas shaping the future of their economies and societies.

Through high-level discussions, institutional exchanges and cultural diplomacy activities, participants will consider how cooperation across government, business, academia and civil society can contribute to a strong, forward-looking and mutually beneficial US-EU partnership.

The ICD Academy for Cultural Diplomacy encourages academic research and analysis of issues related to the goals of the Forum, and would therefore like to welcome participants to submit a paper they would like to be considered for delivery at the Forum. Following the conference, the papers will be included in the proposal document that will be issued and sent
