UK Forum on Cultural Diplomacy (UKFCD)
“Strengthening Democracy, Economic Development, Social Progress and Women’s Leadership”
Forum Overview
Over the past decade, the United Kingdom and the wider international community have experienced considerable political, economic, social and technological change. Shifts in the geopolitical landscape, economic transition, migration, environmental pressures and changing social expectations continue to influence public life and international relations. At the same time, developments in artificial intelligence, digital technologies and new financial systems are reshaping economies, institutions and the ways in which people communicate, work and participate in civic life.
The UK Forum on Cultural Diplomacy (UKFCD), an ongoing initiative of the Scotland Forum, engages with these developments from a distinctly British and international perspective. Drawing upon the United Kingdom’s long traditions of parliamentary democracy, civic engagement, enterprise and international cooperation, the Forum provides a platform for dialogue aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, supporting sustainable economic development, advancing social progress and promoting the equal participation of women in political, economic and civic leadership.
