About the Program
“Central Asia Strategic Council (CASC)” is a program developed by the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy to highlight the opportunities and potential of Central Asia and the Caucasus, and to contribute to the global policy debate on effective strategies for fostering sustainable development and stability in the region.
The program encompasses a wide range of activities, including ongoing research and analysis; the organization of local, national, and international conferences; cultural events and individual lectures; as well as Young Leaders Programs that bring together students and young professionals with a strong interest in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The program pursues the following specific aims:
- To bring together likeminded individuals from Central Asia, the Caucasus, and around the world in the fields of international politics, diplomacy, business and economics, academia, and civil society.
- To contribute to the global dialogue on the opportunities and developments in Central Asia and the Caucasus through research initiatives and public events.
- To connect and empower young leaders from Central Asia, the Caucasus, Europe, and the wider international community who share a strong interest in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and neighbouring regions.
The program is focused on four core areas:
- The rich history, development, and cultural diversity of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
- The political and security dynamics of the region, with an emphasis on exploring innovative strategies for cooperation and stability.
- The role of NATO and the wider international community in working with local partners to support democracy, development, and regional engagement in Central Asia.
- The strategic importance of Afghanistan and Pakistan for regional stability and their place within the broader framework of global politics.
