Forum Overview

Held by the Scotland Forum, the UK Forum on Cultural Diplomacy 2026 brought together political leaders, policymakers, academics, business representatives and civil society figures to consider key political, economic and social challenges facing the United Kingdom and the wider international community. Discussions addressed the strengthening of democracy, women’s leadership, sustainable and impactful development, and security, against the background of geopolitical change, economic transformation, migration, evolving social expectations and developments in artificial intelligence, digital technologies and financial markets.

Held from 12–15 January 2026 at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London, with events in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the Forum took place within the framework of the Scotland Forum. Through lectures, discussions and meetings, the programme provided a platform for dialogue and cooperation between representatives of government, parliament, academia, business and civil society, and explored the role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening democratic participation, encouraging international cooperation and contributing to economic and social progress.
