Cletus A. Sieh
Former Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Liberia
BiographyMinister Cletus A. Sieh obtained his Bachelor’s in Economics with an Emphasis in Public Administration from the University of Liberia and holds a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Liberia’s Graduate School of International Studies. Mr. Sieh continued his work in academia, serving as an Instructor of Economics at the University of Liberia from 2006 to 2007.
Mr. Sieh held a number of positions in the private sector between 1999 and 2002, and worked as the Business Manager and Administrator for Pensions at the Liberia Annual Conference. From 2003 until 2004, he served as Deputy Managing Director for Administration at the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC).
Mr. Sieh’s political career began when he was appointed Deputy Minister for Operations at the Ministry of Internal Affairs from 2004 to 2006. In 2010, Mr. Sieh was appointed Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism for the Republic of Liberia, a position he held until 2011.
At the 2010 World-Expo in Shanghai, Mr. Sieh served as the Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee for the African Pavilion. He has also been recognized with an Advanced Certificate in Administration in 2001 from the General Board of Pensions and Health Benefits of the United Methodist Church of Evanston, Illinois, USA. Mr. Sieh also holds certification in Trauma Healing and Counseling from the World Council of Churches in Liberia.
