Die Ausschreitungen in den Pariser banlieues hatten zur Folge, dass die Regierungen der Nachbarstaaten Angst vor einem ?Überschwappen" der Gewalt in ihre Großstädte bekamen. So sind durch die Vorfälle in Frankreich auch neue Diskussionen um das Thema Integration in Deutschland und speziell in Berlin entstanden.

Was bedeutet Integration in der Hauptstadt, wodurch kann Integration erreicht werden und wo findet Integration speziell in Kreuzberg überhaupt statt? Durch welche politischen Maßnahmen konnte Integration bisher gefördert werden und welche Ergebnisse wurden damit in Kreuzberg erzielt?

Diese und weitere Fragen werden mit verschiedenen Experten diskutiert und näher erörtert.

"Kreuzberg: An example for integration in Germany? Old Questions, Fresh Answers"

For neighboring nations, the riots in the Parisian banlieues of October and November 2005 incited a certain fear of popular insurgency in their own metropoles. As a result of the French experience, new concerns over integration in Germany, notably Berlin, have come to the foreground.
What does integration mean for the capital city, specifically the district of Kreuzberg? How can it be attained? What political measures should be taken or have come to fruition in order to accommodate integration? In Kreuzberg, what evidence of progress already exists?
Experts in various fields will discuss and debate these questions in further detail.
