About the photo-exhibition

"Changing
perspectives by altering the view point. Looking at Romania
through the eyes of its people. Listening to their statements.
Learning about their lives before and after 1989. Romania,
known abroad as the “Land of Dracula” at the
eastern edge of Europe, recalls images of cruel dictators
and never ending corruption. We present it in a different
way. Seven people -- all residents of Romania -- with different
professions, lifestyles and experiences agreed to be portrayed
for this exploratory work. They talk about their own past,
present and especially about their perception of Romanian
identity. Thus, they represent in seven distinct ways a
Romania shortly before joining the European Union."
