Internship description
The ICD is currently accepting applications for internships with our Canada Meets Germany program. The centre point of the program is an annual weeklong Seminar that brings together young leaders from Canada and Germany. In addition to the Seminar, ongoing activities are organized in support of the relationship including panel discussions, lectures, and cultural events. The next Seminar will take place in Berlin from April 25th, 2010 - April 30th, 2010.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Marketing and PR tasks to help promote the program in Canada and Germany
- Proactive research of new funding opportunities
- Research of potential program stakeholders
- Assisting the Program Director in the overall development and coordination of the program
- Writing and editing reports and project summaries
- General office management
The ideal candidate will have:
- An academic background in the field of international relations, cultural studies, German studies, PR and marketing, or a related field
- A strong work ethic and positive, flexible approach
- An interest in cultural diplomacy and bilateral relations between Canada and Germany

The deadline for internship applications is January 2nd, 2010. Please note that internship positions are unpaid and that you must be able to commit to a minimum of 3 months, full-time.
