Biography

Born in Pamplona (Navarra, Spain) in 1967. Agricultural Engineer by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 1992 and Dr. Agricultural Engineer by the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) in 1997. Postdoc visiting scientist at the National Sedimentation Laboratory of the United States Department of Agriculture in Oxford (Mississippi) and tenured professor at the UPNA in 1999. His research is on soil erosion assessment and modelling and on the effect of agriculture in soil erosion and water quality, collaborating closely with the Government of Navarre. He has participated in more than thirty articles on the above mentioned subjects, published in prestigious journals and in many specialized symposia and conferences. From 2007 to 2011 was Vice-president of Students and International Relations at the UPNA, and since 2011 is Vice-President of International Relations and Cooperation at the same University. The Public University of Navarre is among the Spanish universities with the highest rates of student mobility and has started an ambitious program of internationalization with China. Javier Casalí is active musician and president of the “Coral de Cámara de Navarra”.
