The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy encourages research and progressive thought into the fields of culture, globalization and international relations. In our globalized world it is vital that there is continued analysis and fresh thought into the fields of culture and international relations, and the way the two interact with one another. We therefore want to provide the opportunity for discussion of these topics, and the issues that are most important to scholars, students, and practitioners today.

The 2012 International Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy & International Economics is designed to offer cutting-edge solutions to many of the challenges we face in today’s interdependent world in the context of international economics and political & economic inequalities, by applying smart power strategies, and cultural diplomacy initiatives.

Upon the conclusion of the conference the ICD will publish a book edited by Prof. Dr. Vasile Puscas (Professor and Director, Institute for International Studies, Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca) and Mark C. Donfried (Director & Founder, Institute for Cultural Diplomacy) on the topic of the conference:

„Cultural Diplomacy: Reducing Political & Economic Inequalities“

For this book, we are welcoming paper submissions directly related to the subject. The papers can cover any topic within this field, according to your own particular academic and professional interests.

The paper proposal (to be no longer than 2 A4 pages) should be submitted to the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, no later than the 15th of June 2012.
