H.E. Amb. Clémentine Shakembo Kamanga

Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo to Germany

Ambassador Clémentine SHAKEMBO KAMANGA was born on 25 January 1950. She obtained a degree and masters of Psychology in the University of Paris VIII. Ms. Kamanga completed a traineeship in International Relations with the UN in Moscow in 1979. In 1984 she completed a course on International Relations again in Paris, this time at the International Institute of Public Administration .  

Ambassador Kamanga served abroad at the Embassies of the (then) Republic of Zaire in Washington D.C. (1980-1984) and Lisbon (1988-2000). She later headed the America, Asia, and Oceania Section (2002-2007) and was an advisor to the Foreign Minister. She speaks French, English and Portuguese.

In 2009 H.E. Ambassador Kamanga was honoured at the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Séminaire Politico-Stratégique and the 4th Stage of Senior executives for the Missions Leadership in Peacekeeping. 

An active feminist, Ms Kamanga was co-founder in 2001 of the Provost Marshal / ASBL (Multidisciplinary Group of Congolese Women), and is an honorary member of the NGO “Propre”, operating in the field of environmental protection.

H. E. Kamanga has contributed to publications, including a book on the contribution of women to the process of national development - “L’apport de la Femme dans le Processus de Development National”, and “Penser le Pouvoir”.
