Amb. Dr. Makase Nyaphisi
Ambassador of Lesotho to Germany
H.E. Dr. Makase NYAPHISI was appointed ambassador of Kingdom of Lesotho in 2006. Other countries of accreditation are Austria, France, the Holy See and Monaco. Trained as a medical doctor at Martin-Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg Germany, Dr. Nyaphisi is married and has four children.
He holds a Master degree (MPH) from John Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health, Baltimore (USA), Certificate in Primary Health Care – University of Hawaii in Honolulu USA) and a Certificate in Epidemiology and Disease Control from Nairobi University (Kenya).
Prior to his appointment Dr. Nyaphisi worked at the Ministry of Health from 1981 – 1991 where he rose to the rank of Senior Medical Officer and subsequently became the Director of Hospital Services. He was later seconded to the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) and later became its deputy general manager.
Dr. Nyaphisi is a member of several national and international health organisations and has published quite a number of professional journals on health and development.
